Setup Firewall
 Windows XP SP2 Firewall
Windows Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Exceptions Tab -> Add Program -> Select "Hide IP NG" -> OK
Windows Vista Firewall
Windows Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Allow a program through Windows Firewall -> Click "Continue" in User Account Control window -> Click "Add Program" from the "Exceptions" tab -> Select "Hide IP NG" -> OK -> OK
Black Ice Defender
Start the Black Ice Defender -> Tools -> Advanced Application Protection Settings -> Locate hideipng.exe and guardian.exe Under Communications Control -> Change the setting from Terminate to a blank space -> Save Changes -> OK -> Click the red X at the top of the screen to close the window -> Close
Freedom Personal Firewall
Double-click on the Freedom Personal Firewall icon in your system tray -> located in the lower-right hand corner of the screen. -> Select Personal Firewall on the left -> Click on Internet Access Rules. Look for 'hideipng.exe' on the programs list -> In the Connect to the Internet column, click the checkmark next to the red X. This will turn the checkmark green. Repeat the procedure for 'guardian.exe' -> OK -> Click the "X" in the upper-right hand corner of the window to close Freedom Personal Firewall.
Kaspersky Internet Security
Copy Hide IP NG path or Guardian path in Hide IP NG's Unblock window first.
open Kaspersky Internet Security -> Settings -> Firewall -> Settings -> If there is an entry for hideipng.exe/guardian.exe, select it and click Delete -> Click Add -> Paste Hide IP NG / Guardian path -> click Open -> Template - > select Hide IP NG / Guardian -> Click OK three times -> close the application window
McAfee Security Firewall
Copy Hide IP NG path or Guardian path in Hide IP NG's Unblock window first.
Open the McAfee Security Firewall program -> Click Control Internet Programs -> Click Add Locate 'hideipng.exe' -> Click "Open" -> Click the circle next to "Allow this program to have full, unfiltered access to the Internet" -> Apply -> Repeat these steps for 'guardian.exe' -> Click the red X at the top right to close the program
McAfee Personal Firewall Plus
Copy Hide IP NG path or Guardian path in Hide IP NG's Unblock window first.
Start the McAfee Personal Firewall Plus Program -> New Allowed Application -> Paste Hide IP NG path -> Cick Open -> Locate the file from the Internet Applications list -> Click on the Permissions -> Select Allow Full Access -> Repeat these steps for Guardian -> Click the red X at the top right to close the window
Norton Internet Security 2004
Double-click on the Norton Internet Security icon in your system tray -> Personal Firewall -> Programs tab -> Manual Program Control -> Select "Hide IP NG" -> Modify -> Under "What do you want to do" -> select "Permit" -> OK -> OK -> Click the X in the upper-right hand corner of the window to close Norton Internet Security
Norton Internet Security 2005
Copy Hide IP NG path or Guardian path in Hide IP NG's Unblock window first.
Double-click the Norton Internet Security icon in the systems tray -> Personal Firewall -> Configure -> Programs -> Add -> Paste Hide IP NG path -> Click "Open" -> From the dropdown list, select "Permit" -> OK -> Click the "Internet Access setting" -> Select "Permit All" -> OK
Norton Internet Security 2006
Double-click the Norton Internet Security icon in the systems tray -> Personal Firewall -> Configure -> Programs -> Uncheck the Turn on Automatic Program Control box -> Add -> Paste Hide IP NG path -> Click "Open" -> From the dropdown list select "Permit" -> Click "OK" -> Click the "Internet Access setting" -> Select "Permit All" -> OK
Sygate Personal Firewall
Double-click on the Sygate Personal Firewall icon in your system tray -> Applications -> Click the box to the left of hideipng and guardian until a green check mark appears -> OK -> Click the X in the upper-right hand corner of the window to close Sygate Personal Firewall.
Tiny Personal Firewall
Copy Hide IP NG path or Guardian path in Hide IP NG's Unblock window first.
Start the Tiny Personal Firewall program Configuration Tool -> Applications -> Enroll -> Enter hideipng/guardian to "Application Name" -> Check the circle -> Enter hideipng/guardian to Filename -> Click "Exceptions" tab -> From the file list on the left, click directly on a file name -> From the dropdown list select hideipng/guardian -> Save Changes -> Launch the Hide-IP-Soft software -> When the prompt appears regarding Hide IP NG click Apply Permanently -> Click "Allow"
ZoneAlarm
Start the ZoneAlarm Firewall program -> Program Control -> Programs -> Locate Hide IP NG and single click in the setting under Trusted and select Allow -> Repeat the above step under the Internet setting -> Click the X in the upper-right hand corner of the window to close ZoneAlarm -> The next time you run the program, you will have to click Allow to let Hide IP NG access the Internet.
Other Firewall Programs
If you have a firewall not listed above, try the following steps:
- Go to your firewall's settings option.
- Look for a list of applications that are allowed or prevented access to the Internet.
- Look for hideipng/guardian. If any of these programs are blocked or prevented access to the Internet, select them and change their setting to be allowed access.
- Save your changes and restart your firewall program.
